And I’m antsy to get this thing fired back up again!

Yup. Was my first Autocross experience, car has been down for a year and a half after it dropped a valve. Just taking my time to make sure everything is nailed down tight.

Guns Up!
Saw your CC thread. Ran my Camaro LS1 in STU for awhile.
Unbalanced Engineering Bilstein (rod ends f/r) and 1000/250lb Hyperco’s
Strano 35mm hollow front bar
Hellwig 22mm adj (21,22,23) hollow rear bar
Fays2 Watts link
LG torque arm
1LE rear lower control arms
Torsen T2R
Fun car, would (will!) build again.

You got to come down south. First events are already in the books. But nice Firebird. I really wish mine was running. Stupid camshaft bearing in the Lt1. But this was in my buddies mustang. The miata starts its nationals run in 3 weeks. Lets see if I can trophy in E Street. Also ignore the horrible driving.

Nice combo! Looks like Strano has been working with UMI to get a new coilover system developed with a road race/auto-x focus as well (Probably to get in on the CAM stuff).
I can’t wait to see how this car does with my watts link. I didn’t really have a strong personal sense of how a panhard screws with the roll center until I got it on track lol.
I have a friend that will be sending me a trailer hitch for cheap, so i can get a trailer to haul spare wheel/tire combos + gear for events which will be nice if I get more serious and have a little more spare time.

Yeah, I’m in Lubbock, TX so we’re about the same latitude. The region’s SCCA group seems to be dying off unfortunately but the PCA events are really picking up in popularity. I just live in the wrong area, DFW, Houston and some of those areas are already racing.

Nice. I was happy to not have to deal with a trailer though.
I liked the UE Bilsteins and valving for the most part, but I would have made minor changes to it and moved up to 1200lb front springs going forward. The T2R is also an excellent diff for auto-x and I wouldn’t use anything else.
The watts made an absolute huge difference. The rear feel will be completely different, and in a good way. You will really like it. I ended up needing more rear bar and spring. IIRC I ran the Watts on the lowest pivot and moved the rear bar between mid and stiffest settings depending on surface.
I threw out the soft spring/big bars vs stiff springs/small bars argument and went stiff springs/big bars, haha. The car ran hard and liked it though.

That’s what I’ve been seeing on FRRAX, people running hellatiously heavy spring with as big a bar as possible and trying to keep that chassis as flat as can be.
I’ll test this setup and see how I like it, then fine tune it from there. It’s still a full time street car, so that’s one part of the formula I have to keep in mind.
Bigger bars might come along though. I think it’s the Suspension Techniques front bar that’s the biggest solid one we can get right now at 36mm. I’ve seen more posts about people using the adjustable Hellwig setup w/ the watts link, that seems to go hand in hand with adjusting that roll center.

Congrats on the Bangshift article, going to try my hand at autocross next year if I can

Oh wow, didn’t even know they featured it. Sweet!
Got featured years ago on there back during my first rebuild lol.
It’s a lot of fun, I highly recommend it.

It works - make the tires do work. I think I had mine set to L/R -4.7*/-4.9* camber, 8.8*/9.0* caster, and 1/16 toe total w/stock front arms. I wanted -5* cam and 9* caster with me in the seat, but didn’t quite get there with the stock arms.
Mine was a street car as well. But because it had nice expensive shocks with good valving wasn’t harsh at all. Stiff, but comfortable.
I only did hollow bars, no reason to keep adding unsprung (and sprung) weight. I’d have to do the math to see if the rate change of a solid bar would be worth it, but rather would add more spring most likely.
The cg of my car was ~17.5" w/front RC of ~0.5" and rear of ~9in” (stock is 12" in rear?). The cg is so high (and front RC so low) that the front rolls A LOT. Need big spring/bars. Get that rear RC down and slam stiff bar/springs under it. The cg is not coming down without a lot of effort (and $$$)...

Lubbock scene is tiny.
DFW folks are a fine group of auto-x guys/gals in both SCCA and Equipe Rapide. Not to mention the S2000 and Porsche groups.
I’ve only hung out with Houston NASA folks (good peeps) so far.

Yeah, I follow Vorshlag pretty heavily with their car development and racing. It’s nice to see people document their work as well as they do for the public to see.
